Being thanked for your service always means something special to a veteran. For Robert O’Neill, receiving a handwritten thank-you letter from George W. Bush was an especially proud moment. It was the former president’s words that carried Rob into battle and assured him that he was on a mission worth fighting for and worth dying for.
